Artist Biography:
Megan McLarney was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1975. She has been living and working in New York City since receiving her BFA in Film/Animation/Video from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1997.
Currently, her work is on view at the Margulies Collection and the Sundari Foundation in Miami, Florida, and she is participating as a finalist in the Los Angeles International Airport public art commission for the Tom Bradley Terminal. McLarney recently completed a unique multi monitor video landscape for the Sagamore Hotel Collection in Miami; Florida and is currently working on a commission for Michael Weinstein in New York City. One of her video installations is also included in the collection of Eloisa Haudenschild in La Jolla, California.
McLarney has participated in various exhibitions, including the show “Schools of Thought” at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She was a MacDowell Colony artist-in-residence in 2003, a Yaddo artist-in-residence in 2004, and a recipient of a prestigious space grant from the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation from 2004-2005.
